Building Our First Home - Weeks Five And Six

Greetings Everyone,

As with previous weeks, the house continues to take shape quite quickly. As you will see below, one day we have walls and the next we have a driveway. It's really amazing at the speed that this thing is going up. With each passing day this structure slowly changes from just a house to a home.

These are extremely exciting times!

We also got the news that we will be closing the last week of February. That means in a month's time, we will be homeowners! I, personally, cannot wait to start decorating and see everything come together.

Please check back soon for some more updates.

Building Our First House - Week Four

So this is where the fun begins.......

The building process has really taken off. In the span of just a few days we went from a boring foundation, to a house with walls, rooms, windows, and doors. It was very surreal to walk through our house for the first time, envisioning how the finished product would look.

The Entire House Is Framed

A Bedroom - Where Our Home Office Will Be

Shot Of Our Kitchen - Sliding Glass Door On Right, Window On Left

OK, so here we reach the first hiccup in this home building process. That window on the left is actually not suppose to be there. That window represents the kitchen plan we DIDN'T want. If you look below the window you can see the plumbing where there sink will go. Unfortunately, the kitchen plan we picked has the sink in a totally different spot.

We quickly informed the builder that they are building the wrong kitchen. They told us they would get it fixed up immediately. Let's hope so...

Another Shot Of Kitchen- The Plumbing Is All Wrong Here

A Few Days Later - We Have A Roof!

With all the problems with our kitchen we are a little nervous about how everything will turn out. But we have every confidence that the builder will fix the problem.

Check back next week for some updated pics.

Building Our First House - Week Three

Hey Everyone!

With Christmas come and gone, it's time to take another look at the progress of our house. As you can see, not too much was done over the holiday week. The good news, however, is that it looks like the builders are prepping to put up our walls.

There will certainly be some exciting pictures in the next coming weeks!

The Piles Of Supplies Keep Getting Bigger And Bigger!

It Is Actually Starting To Take Shape

All in all, the new developments are making this a very special Christmas. Kimberly and myself are so excited about what God and life has in store for us in 2010!
