Building Our First House - Week One

So here we are...

With a little over 6 months before myself and Miss Kimberly Walden "tie the knot," we walk around this grassy lot, dreaming of our future home and the many years of happiness that will reside with us.

For several months we have been actively looking for a small starter home to call our own. After finding a few that we really liked (even going as far as putting an offer down on one small house) we discovered this brand new neighborhood right off of New Cut Road in Inman, SC (conveniently 3 miles away from Kimberly's parents).

After scoping out the development for months, we decided that this place was perfect for us. And, after crossing the t's and dotting the i's, we were given the great news that the builder would start on our house this coming week.

As a way to remember this exciting time in our lives, Kimberly and myself decided to take weekly pictures of our "in progress" house for all our friends and family to see.

Please enjoy! We know we will!

Here is the sign that shows our lot. Good ol' Lot 10. It just so happens to be the biggest lot in the neighborhood as well. ;)

And here it is. I know it doesn't look like much now but those orange flags outline where our house will be located.

Here is a bigger view. Our property extends from the edge of the road all the way to those far trees in the background.

Kimberly and myself loved this tree! We begged the builder not to cut it down. So far it has survived.

Check back each week for more updates and new pictures!
